Message from the Deputy Head of Secondary  School (Academic)

On behalf of everyone at Collegiate American School (CAS), I would like to welcome you to the Middle (Grades 6-8) and High (Grades 9-12) School for the 2017-2018 School Year.

Collegiate American School is an IB World School that offers an American Common Core Standards Based Curriculum aligned with the State of New York and an International Baccalaureate (IB) Programme that leads to an American Curriculum High School Diploma with an opportunity to concurrently earn the IB Diploma.

In order to provide a true 21st Century Experiential Education, CAS offers students the opportunity to learn in  our state of the art STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) Lab in which all students make relevant connections with their learning through hands on application and discovery activities.  Students will be able to integrate their knowledge from not only these subjects, they will be able to develop their creative, innovative and artistic abilities all while utilizing their communications skills to demonstrate  and present their understandings.

Our curriculum at Collegiate American School is relevant, rigorous and challenging, with all students, staff and administrators held to the highest of standards driven by continuous self-reflection and evaluation.  Our teachers are highly qualified and trained in the latest methods and techniques, utilize a variety of innovative strategies, and are supplied with the highest quality of resources and technologies through which to support the student learning and experience.

Students throughout the Middle and High School focus on their academic, interpersonal, leadership, social and physical skills in order to be prepared to succeed in a global society.  Here at CAS we look to develop students as true global citizens, taking responsibility and contributing to their own well-being as well as that of their families, society and the greater international community.  Our after school, co-curricular and athletic activities and teams provide students the opportunity to compete locally and internationally across a wide assortment of sports, debate, leadership, academic and geo-political competitions and conferences, as well as expand their skills and abilities into such areas as the culinary arts, competitive gaming, photography and film making.

We offer a comprehensive range of core academic classes and electives in order to provide a truly personalized experience with each student’s course of study uniquely scheduled to best meet their needs and abilities.  Our students are independent learners supported in their journey by not only the teachers, yet also by a great support staff for all types of learning and language needs.

Regardless of whether you are a current or prospective CAS parent or student, you can be confident in knowing that here at Collegiate American School, the experience is intellectually stimulating, challenging, supportive and motivating while developing a true love of learning amongst a sense of family, community and service.
